Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Journal of Pharmacy and Halal Studies (JPHS) is a fully open-access journal. All published articles are freely available online immediately upon publication, with no subscription or pay-per-view fees. To sustain high editorial standards and professional publishing services, JPHS applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts.

APC Amount

The APC is charged per accepted manuscript as follows:

Article Type APCs
Article Publication IDR 500.000
Article Submission IDR 0

The APC is invoiced only when a manuscript is formally accepted. JPHS does not request or accept APC payments before editorial acceptance.

When and How to Pay

  • The APC is payable only after acceptance.
  • Payment instructions and an invoice will be sent to the corresponding author.
  • Invoices can be addressed to the author’s institution or research funder upon request.
  • Payment should be completed within the timeframe stated on the invoice to avoid delays in production.

Waivers and Discounts

JPHS is committed to equitable access to publishing. APC waivers or discounts may be considered on a case-by-case basis, for example:

  • Authors with demonstrated financial constraints (with supporting justification)
  • Invited editorials or commissioned content (where applicable)
  • Other categories defined by the journal’s policy (to be stated explicitly)

Requests must be submitted before acceptance. Waiver decisions do not influence editorial decisions.

Editorial Independence and Transparency

The ability to pay an APC has no influence on the editorial decision. All manuscripts are evaluated solely on scholarly merit, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Refund Policy

  • No APC is charged for rejected manuscripts.
  • If payment has been made and the article is withdrawn after acceptance, refund eligibility (full/partial) is determined based on the production stage and documented costs.
  • In exceptional circumstances (e.g., editorial/publishing errors), JPHS may review refund requests in line with transparent internal procedures.

License

Articles in JPHS are published under the journal’s stated Creative Commons license (as displayed on the journal website).
